Stage Two

I placed an order today with Dream Vision Creations for a preformed foam head for the next stage of my creation/remodel of Relic and this head will have a movable jaw.

I have been considering a resin base for nearly a year, but the more I have looked at them and heard others commenting on them often being uncomfortable, I have opted for the expanded foam instead.

This remake will finally see the integration of all the same furs throughout Relic's suit as the fur on the head that I originally sculpted is a different fur from what I used on the body.  I have enjoyed the creative process throughout the creation of my fursuit but the remake of the head will finally bring the look all into sync.

My original head will still be a special piece, and will be used for many years yet with any luck.  I will endeavor to get the remake finished by September 22nd for Relic's Birthday.

A Christmas Appearance

Relic was able to suit up for a little while at our family Christmas gathering.

I was the center of attraction for my Grand Nephew Morgin for a short time. He made sure his big Puppy had lots of balloons to paw around.

Introducing my New Character Nautique Seafurson

Nautique Seafurson
It started with the name actually but was certain to be a Sea Otter without question. The character is not finished, not even close but I have compiled enough information to be able to start writing and sketching out rough characterizations although none that I would dream of putting into public view as yet.
Oh, yeah... by the way if you are wondering it's pronounced:
"Knaw-Teak"

Nautique will likely have a separate blog once the character is "out of the water" but for now any updates will appear here on Relic's Blog with Nautique tagged in the title. At this time Nautique is slated to become my second fursuit sometime in the next few years if things work out the way I plan, but only time will tell for certain.

As before I will state the obvious and point out once again:

The Character now known as Nautique Seafurson is the artistic and intellectual property of Relic B. FurryTM and His creator.  Please respect any artists rights to their work.

"Anchor" Management Issues

I have been noticing in a few of the photos of Relic (Timber) that there is an annoying tuft of white fur that is overlapping the anchor in the area of the suites zipper.

The trouble with this issue is that the fur in question cannot simply be trimmed away as it is actually from the real layer underneath the anchor as it is only pinned onto the original suit and not sewn directly into it. I guess I need to make a final decision as to the anchor becoming a permanent part of the suit as it will be the deciding factor in how this is taken care of.  I have tried simply tucking it back under the anchor layer but inevitably while working the zipper it finds its way back to the surface.

A Larger Case Is In Order

So much for the "one case fursuit" idea... with the completion of the new Feet-Paws Relic has out-grown his existing case.

Even if I take out the old pair of Feet-Paws there is not enough room for the new ones. I knew I should have purchased the larger case when I bought this one a year or so ago.  Perhaps after Christmas is over with I will look at a new larger case, but for now I will just have to carry them separately. Maybe I can find a way of fastening them together with a lanyard of some type to hang them over my shoulder.
